Laser Hair Removal

Infinite Med Spa offers advanced hair removal procedures such as laser hair removal, a permanent solution to unwanted body hair.

Laser hair removal is a much more advanced and safe procedure than electrolysis. Laser hair removal is a technique which uses beams of light to penetrate hair follicles and destroy the hair within them. The hair is destroyed when the light is absorbed by pigment within the follicles.

A laser hair removal treatment is excellent for anyone who wants to be rid of the hassles of repeated shaving, tweezing, or waxing (such as bumps, nicks, and burns). A treatment is useful if you want undesired body hair removed from the face, leg, arm, underarm, bikini line, and other areas which hair would be a problem. The lasers are extremely precise, targeting coarse hairs while leaving the surrounding skin tissue undamaged. The laser is quick and can treat many hairs at the same time, making your appointment quick and painless.

If an appointment for laser hair removal sounds like something you are interested in, please give us a call. Hair loss will usually occur after an average of three to five sessions, and the results after these sessions are absolutely phenomenal.

This treatment option for hair removal is great news for both men and women.

  • Permanent Hair Removal

For years, women and men have subjected themselves to painful, expensive and inadequate methods of hair removal. Today, laser hair removal is a more viable alternative to shaving, waxing and plucking than ever before. In fact, nearly 1.3 million Americans underwent laser hair removal in 2009 due to its proven safety and effectiveness.

Laser Hair Removal Process

Our laser hair removal treatment produces a large beam of highly concentrated light. The light emitted is well absorbed by the pigment located in the hair follicles (melanin). During the hair removal procedure, the laser pulses for a fraction of a second, allowing the hair to absorb the light and heat up. This significantly reduces the hair’s ability to re-grow, and results in permanent hair removal over time.

Because hair grows in phases, a series of treatments will be needed to remove the hair that subsequently enters the growth phase. Treatments are generally spaced 6-8 weeks apart to compensate for this.

Phases Of Laser Hair Removal

The active phase of growth of the hair is called Anagen. During this phase the hair contains melanin in abundance and is when the laser is able to destroy it.

Catagen is the phase of regression when the low part of the hair stops growing but it does not follow and the follicle reabsorbs

The remaining phase is called Telogen, during which the hair falls in preparation for the development of a new hair.
